Gather is a site that compiles news articles and also provides an outlet for members to post their own commentaries as well. Users can comment on the provided content or they can create their own. The site aims to provide a unique perspective on the latest going-ons. Users can share their own views or join in the conversations that revolve around their favorite topics. The site is also a resource for freelance writers to find their own work. Gather works with hundreds of freelance writers who start thousands of conversations each month. Beyond just reading the latest articles on the site, users can also make friends and find others who share the same opinion as they do. The site features many different articles in many different topics. Some of it is serious, and some of it is just gratuitous entertainment or newsstories. When users find writers whose work they enjoy they can choose to visit that writer's page or even follow all of the articles that they write.

Gather is a crowdsourced news site, which is nice since anyone can express their side of the story and there can be a multitude of opinions shared on the site. The issue with this is that some of the stories and news may not be 100% reliable. The site features articles and commentary every day from thousands of writers.

Gather's design is professional-looking and setup in a logical manner. Stories are arranged into categories such as sports, celebs, family, food and more. Most stories are highlighted with a small icon or image pertaining to the content. To the right of the page, a stream of user activity and comments is on continual display and constantly is being updated. The site is fast and responsive and there were no bugs encountered during this review.

Users can register for a Gather profile by clicking on the Join Gather button located on the site's homepage. From there, users will be asked to provide their first and last name, email address, username, password, a ReCaptcha verification and they will need to agree to the site's terms of service, privacy policy, community guidelines and acknowledge that they are over 13 years old.

Gather is a free service which is supported by advertising revenues.

Gather is a site where users can go to browse many different opinions on the latest stories, or they can got o uncover some of the lesser-known stories that are happening around the world. The site has an active userbase who is not shy to post their comments or opinions based on the content. Some of the users could come off as brash, however for those who are intrigued by such banter and commentary this could be a great site.
